Summer Camp

Summer Camp at Lost Pines

Summer Camp at Lost Pines Scout Reservation is one of the top experiences any Scout will have, enjoying a week-long adventure in the outdoors while making new friendships and deepening existing ones with other members of your Scouts BSA Troop. The camp is nearly 400 acres, located on the north side of Lake Bastrop. Home to the tallest climbing tower in Texas, DOK’s Tower, excellent Catfish and Largemouth Bass fishing, and more.

Summer resident camp is provided by the outstanding Lost Pines staff. In addition to the activities noted above, Scouts can participate in a myriad of merit badges and high adventure experiences including: .22 rifle, shotgun, ATV, scuba, climbing, action archery, sailing, kayak, stand up paddle board, mountain bike, and more.

What makes Lost Pines special?

Our staff

It sounds corny, but… our staff returns every summer because they LOVE being at Lost Pines and working with your Scouts. You can go to a lot of different places for camp, but you will not find a group more committed to making sure your troop has a terrific camp experience. From our troop guides to our program teams to our kitchen staff and beyond, our team will go the extra mile to meet your needs.

Our first year program

Our first year camper program, called “Eagle Quest,” is an all-day program offered for campers in their first six months of the Scouts BSA program. Eagle Quest concentrates on several Scout skill areas: first aid, knots, knife and axe use and safety, and fire making. If time permits additional requirements will be explored. Additionally, Scouts will earn two Eagle-required merit badges – First Aid and Swimming. If a Scout is not a swimmer, instructional swim will be provided.

Our expanded programs

Your older Scouts can earn Scuba Merit Badge and with PADI certification, take an A.T.V. safety course, challenge themselves mentally and physically in our C.O.P.E. program, get certified in Wilderness and Remote First Aid, and more.

Our leader-friendly facilities

We get it – not everyone can take the entire week of camp off from work. But it’s important for you to be a part of your troop’s summer program (not to mention required by Scouting America policy). If you need to stay connected to the office during the day, we’ll provide you work space inside our air-conditioned dining hall with free WiFi. And coffee. Lots of coffee.

Our food

We’ll put our kitchen staff up against anyone else’s. The Lost Pines menu is highly rated by our campers year in and year out. There’s a fresh salad bar at every lunch and dinner. Our team strives to provide options to fit the dietary needs/restrictions of our campers with every meal. Upon request, we can provide gluten-free, vegetarian, and poultry only (no beef and/or no pork) options. If someone in your unit needs to bring their own food, we can provide facilities to safely store and prepare it.

NEW IN 2026: Eagle Academy

The Eagle Academy is a special program designed to help older Scouts aged 15-17 complete their Eagle Scout requirements. To assist the Scout in doing this, the Eagle Academy:

  • Offers the most-difficult-to-earn Eagle Required Merit Badges. A few of these merit badges will require the Scout to complete requirements before attending camp.
  • Covers strategies a Scout can use to complete their Eagle Project including project planning and fund raising.
  • Teaches time management and public speaking skills.

Eagle Academy at Lost Pines is July 7-10, 2026. Registration opens September 1, 2025. Click here for more information.
