Our council’s International Committee invites you to take part in our special in-person celebration of the worldwide JOTA-JOTI event. By attending our activities at the Fickett Center, you can get your JOTA-JOTI Passport to International Spirit and open up a world of international Scouting!
At the Fickett Center, you’ll be able to talk with Scouts around the world by Zoom and Ham Radio, learn about Scouting in Kenya and Mexico from in-person representatives, complete requirements for multiple international-themed awards, and much more.
What is JOTA-JOTI?
Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) – Jamboree-on-the-Internet (JOTI) is an annual global Scouting event held on the third weekend of October. Typically, JOTA-JOTI attracts close to two million Scouts and leaders from more than 160 countries! Participation in JOTA-JOTI is a requirement of the International Spirit Award.

Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) uses amateur radio to link Scouts around the world, around the nation, and in your community.
Check in opens at 8:00 am and activities begin at 8:45 am

COST
Registration Fee for all participants is $5.00 which includes your Passport, box lunch provided by ThunderCloud Subs, a special Capitol Area JOTA-JOTI 2026 Patch and access to the Midway, Zooms and JOTA-JOTI.
Registration Fee for Merit Badge Courses is an additional $10.00. One class per participant please.

WHAT
All levels of Scouting are eligible to earn the International Spirit Award and many activities will be offered to meet the award requirements. Exhibits will also include activities for meeting the Scouting for Clean Waterways award. More detailed descriptions are provided in the JOTA-JOTI 2026 Passport to International Spirit Guidebook. Other activities are tailored to each level of Scouting as follows:
CubScout Participant. Cub Scout Programming will include specific activities for Cub Scouts based on the JOTI Cub Scout Activity Guide. Older Scout Ambassadors will assist Cubs as they explore these fun activities. Many of our Midway Exhibits will also support Cub Scouts Adventures and will be identified accordingly.
Scouts BSA Participant. Scouts BSA Participants can register for the following Merit Badge Courses which are described in the JOTA-JOTI 2026 Passport to International Spirit Guidebook. Cost is $10. One Merit Badge per participant please.

Adult Scout Participant. Adults can also earn their International Spirit Award as well as attend sessions for adults.
Friend or Family Participant. Friends and family are welcome to join the fun! The JOTA-JOTI PASSPORT TO INTERNATIONAL SPIRIT will allow friends and family to experience the world of International Scouting along with their Scout companion first hand! Cost is: $5.
